Five Churches in Goa

We approached a few churches where in the parish priests & the priests involved with the youth readily agreed to join us for 'Outreach to Reachout'.

The Churches that welcomed us were St. Inez Church-Panjim; St. Lawrence Church- Agassaim; St. Alex, Calangute; St. Clare- Assonara and St. Andrew Church – Vasco. They in turn invited the surrounding parishes from their deanery. This took place from the 9th to the 14th of Sep’13 from 10am to 5pm. We also requested the Band of Priests to join us for one of the four sessions each day. Fr. Manuel Dias to conduct the Adoration. Our Faith Works musicians and singers along with our team worked vigorously to make this event a meaningful experience. Most important, we also conducted a 3 day- 24 hr prayer chain before the event, wherein our Faith Works group & their families along with the Band of Priests interceded for the young people.

The response was awesome. The young people that attended represented 32 parishes. The Band of priests stirred the hearts of every person present. Fr. Joe also spoke to youth on getting rid of the ‘idols’ in their lives’. Yvette & myself shared the Word of God – ‘Your Christian DNA’ & ‘The Woman at the Well’. We ended with Fr. Manuel leading the young people into a deep introspection of their lives & their walk with God. Many were in tears leaving behind at the feet of Jesus their distractions and temptations before the Blessed Sacrament. The parents and catechists present at Calangute and Vasco also appreciated this outreach as the attention of the youth was captured till the end. The youth too enjoyed as their comments are still pouring in via ‘facebook’.

We at Faith Works India are looking forward to working closely with the Church and the parish priests, to share with the youth the music, the wisdom and secrets in the bible so as to prepare them to become good witnesses, leaders and responsible members of our Church. With love & prayers, Boni
