September 8 is celebrated as the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, commemorating her birth. It is the beginning of her role in birthing Jesus Christ into this world. Jesus offered Himself for all of humanity - it is the greastest gift -

 The gift of Salvation.  

Rooted in ancient tradition, the feast  is a reflection of Mary the Mother of Jesus who has a unique place  in God’s plan for humanity.
